■ To massage your heart, place your right hand over your heart at least three inches away from your chest. Move your hand in a small clockwise circle, and gradually increase the size of the circle. This takes the qi in the heart and spreads it out around the chest.
■ Finally, lead the qi past the liver and down the right leg.
Testicles or Ovaries
Massaging the testicles or ovaries increases the production of hormones. According to Chinese muscle/tendon changing and marrow/brain washing qigong (yi jin jing and xi sui jing), massaging the testicles or ovaries correctly will increase hormone production and also increase the amount of qi led upward to the brain. Other effects are increasing the amount of qi stored in the body and strengthening the immune system. There are many ways to massage the testicles or ovaries. For example, if you massage your testicles, you may hold the testicles gently between your palms and circle your hands. You may also simply hold them in your hand and gently press and rub them. To massage ovaries, you may use the base knuckles of your pinkies to circle the ovaries gently. This subject is discussed in more detail in my book Qigong—The Secret of Youth.
